Swimming in Switzerland
You might not immediately associate Switzerland with a great place to go swimming, but with it’s many lakes and rivers are a great place to not only cool off, but hang with the locals. The moment the sun comes out, the locals flock to the local Badi, lake or river and swim, picnic and hang out till the sunsets.
Here is a list of Badi’s where local families love to hang out in the summer, lakes they love to hike to for a swim or public pools that are just as fun.
Badi Dachsen, and close to the famous Rhein Waterfalls and on the outskirts of Schaffhausen is set along the Rhein river but also has the added convince of swimming pools and facilities.
In summer, once the snow has melted, the mountains are the ideal place to escape the summer heat. The town of Davos, more famous for skiing and the world Economic forum, also has an amazing place to swim: Bächi’s Strandbad Davos.
This Lido needs no introduction, and is known the country over. With plenty of slides and jump boards as well as indoor options when its cooler, Lido Locarno is a great place to cool off in Ticino.
